Firezone (FDNY)

I.D. Magazine Design Review Award,
THEA Award from the Themed Entertainment Association

Located in New York City's Rockefeller Center, the Firezone gives visitors a unique opportunity to become part of the firefighting team. Through an immersive, multi-media experience, children and adults learn that they play a major role in preventing fires and making their homes safer.

Visitors to the Firezone can talk to real Firefighters, try on their gear even experience what it's like to "race" to a fire aboard a pumper truck. But they also get to see first hand the damage that fire can cause, and hear firsthand stories from survivors who, because they knew what to do in advance, escaped from their fires unharmed.

Because the messages "stick" in a visceral way, kids walk away from the Firezone empowered to take action in their own homes.

Created pre-9/11, the FDNY Firezone has since become national centerpiece for fire safety education and a gathering place for firefighters around the globe.
